Text Box: 2008-2009 School Fund-Raising Summary Major Fundraising Events Include - Bingo: Bring your friends. Real cash! You could be a winner! This is a parish/community fundraiser! You must be 18 or older to play. Call the rectory at 847-949-8300 for further details. Held on Mondays starting at 6:00 in the Parish Center. (Voucher hours can be earned.) Casino Nights: This is a two night event. This is a community invited event but adults only. Las Vegas style casino action. Real money and table games! Great food, drink and fun…bring your friends. Call Chris Hogstrom for volunteer opportunities. This is held in February. (Voucher hours can be earned.) Fistfull of Dollars Dinner Dance: Your attendance is requested at SMdP’s largest fundraiser and party of the year! Dinner, dancing, music, fabulous live auction, terrific gift items, and a great opportunity to be with friends or meet new ones. Call Ursula Bowes to volunteer your time. Held in November. (Voucher hours can be earned.) QSP Magazines: You can wait for the school fundraiser or order online. Orders can be placed online at anytime. (Voucher hours can be earned.) Track-a-thon: The SMDP students (K-8) have sponsors pledge an amount per lap or make a donation. Important Fundraising Events include - Book Fair: This is a great chance to help the schools literacy program while working directly with the children. The school earns credit for books/merchandise based on the percentage of sales. Call Shawn Jensen for more information. (This is held in January.) Box Tops for Education: Cut labels from qualifying products and send box tops to the school office. Earn 10 cents per label. For more information visit www.boxtops4education.com Campbell’s Soup Labels for Education: Clip proof of purchase from favorite Campbell products and send to the school office. Check website for info at www.labelsforeducation.com Dominick’s escrip: Register your Dominick’s Fresh Values card online at www.escrip.com and every time you use it a percentage of your purchase is automatically put into an account for SMDP and a check is sent directly to the school. Our Group ID #: 6561621 (Santa Maria del Popolo School) Entertainment Book: Savings book for travel, rental car, hotels, restaurants, shopping, etc. These make great gifts! Use your card in combination with Scrip Gift Certificates for a double donation to SMDP. Only $20 each. Sold after mass or call Michelle Riemer for more information. Occurs August through November. Fannie May Candy Sales: Candy bars will be sold after mass. If there is anyone wanting to sell a case or two at your office, please call Shawn Jensen for more information. Football Mania: This is a parish fundraiser. Purchase a ticket for $20 from rectory. You are entered into the NFL football pool with 6 prizes each week and 2 grand prizes. Each ticket has a 1 in 48 chance of winning. Go to www.Charitymania.com for further information. SMDP earns $14.00 from each ticket sold. Tickets can be purchased starting in August through October. Fun Fair: A fun family event with carnival games, prizes, food, cake walk! Little ones are also invited! Contact Marinel Maravilla for more information. Held in October. Market Day: Great quality food at competitive prices! Easy ordering and pick up. Send in your order form or order online at www.marketday.com. Or contact Lisa Rockenhaus for more details. Pick up is generally one Friday a month in the Parish Center between 4:15-5:15. Holiday Bazaar: Last year over 25 crafters came together in the Parish Center for this festive event. Christmas shop for a wide selection of unique handcrafted items. This is one show you won’t want to miss! Contact Maria Luzano and Emmy Reyes for more details. Held in December. Office Depot: Tell the cashier when you check out you would like SMDP to receive credit. Our school receives 5% of your purchases. Our school ID #: 70033604. A merchandise gift card is automatically sent to SMDP. Good all year round. Progressive Dinner: This fun “travel-dining” extravaganza is open to all parents/friends. Diners travel to different homes for appetizers, dinner, dessert and raffle. The money raised from this event is used for teacher bonuses.
